Average Quarterly Balance (AQB) calculator

Current accounts (especially business / proprietorship) require an average quarterly balance — the sum of daily closing balances ÷ days in the quarter. Falling below triggers a penalty of typically ₹500–₹3,000 + GST per quarter.

How banks compute AQB

AQB = sum of closing balances on each day of the quarter ÷ number of days in the quarter.

A single day of high balance can lift the average meaningfully — but it has to be a real end-of-day balance, not a brief intraday spike.

Typical current-account AQB requirements

  • Basic current account — ₹10,000–₹25,000
  • Premium / SME — ₹50,000–₹2,00,000
  • Wholesale / corporate — ₹5,00,000+
