Why are there three different "horsepower" units?
Mechanical (US) hp = 33 000 ft·lbf/min = 745.7 W; metric (PS) hp = 75 kgf·m/s = 735.5 W; electrical hp = 746 W (used for motor labelling). Always check which one a spec sheet means.
