FAQ
Why does dog size matter?
Larger dogs age faster than smaller ones. A 10-year-old Chihuahua is roughly equivalent to a 56-year-old human; a 10-year-old Great Dane is closer to 79.
How accurate is "7 dog years per human year"?
The 1:7 rule is outdated. Dogs mature very fast in the first two years (each year ≈ 12 human years), then slow down. This calculator uses the modern AAHA / DNA-methylation model.
