What is MET?

The Metabolic Equivalent of Task — how many times your resting metabolic rate an activity demands. Sitting is 1 MET; brisk walking is about 4 METs; running 10 km/h is 10 METs.

How accurate is this?

Estimates are within ±10–15% for healthy adults. Heart-rate-based measurements (smartwatch / chest strap) are more personalised.
